AI Apprentice – Entry-Level Artificial Intelligence Job
You’ll step into a mid-sized US product company whose core mission is transforming raw data into actionable intelligence. A flat structure, transparent feedback loops, and a culture that values psychological safety give newcomers freedom to question assumptions and ship bold ideas.
What You’ll Do
- Clean, normalize, and label large data sets to improve model accuracy.
- Write clear, modular Python scripts that automate repetitive preprocessing tasks.
- Prototype simple neural networks in TensorFlow and track their performance metrics.
- Debug predictive algorithms, identify bottlenecks, and suggest refinements.
- Document experiments, decisions, and results for future replication.
- Cooperate with data scientists, DevOps engineers, and product managers during agile sprints.
- Present weekly learnings to cross-functional peers—communication counts.
- Explore cutting-edge AI tools, libraries, and frameworks, sharing insights with the wider guild.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related STEM field.
- Solid grasp of Python fundamentals, including list comprehensions and pandas DataFrames.
- Introductory knowledge of machine-learning concepts: supervised vs. unsupervised, overfitting, cross-validation.
- Familiarity with TensorFlow or PyTorch; willingness to deepen expertise quickly.
- Basic statistics: mean, variance, probability distributions.
- Comfort navigating Linux command line and Git version control.
- Analytical mindset, tenacity in debugging, and appetite for continuous learning.
- Clear written and verbal English; feedback-oriented collaboration style.
Tech Stack You’ll Explore
- Python 3.12, TensorFlow 2.x, Keras, NumPy, pandas.
- JupyterLab, MLflow, Weights & Biases.
- Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs.
- PostgreSQL, Redis, Apache Airflow.
Growth & Mentorship
Expect daily code reviews, fortnightly one-to-ones, and tailored learning paths covering prompt engineering, generative models, and AI ethics. Successful apprentices often transition into Junior Machine Learning Engineer roles within 9-12 months.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
- Remote-first policy with optional on-site hackathons.
- Slack-based communities of practice for rapid knowledge exchange.
- Internal demo days that celebrate experimentation—unfinished prototypes welcome!
- Recognition program rewarding intellectual curiosity as much as shipped features.
