Junior Bug Analyst – Entry-Level Quality Assurance Job
Our cross-functional quality group protects user trust for complex, high-traffic platforms in finance, healthcare, retail, and gaming. You will pair with senior testers, product owners, and site reliability engineers who value curiosity, grit, and smart automation.
What You’ll Do
- Investigate user-reported anomalies across web, mobile, and API layers; isolate the exact steps that trigger each fault.
- Document defects in JIRA with clear summaries, stack traces, screenshots, and expected/actual behavior.
- Rate severity and business impact, then negotiate fix priority with engineering leads.
- Maintain a living bug database—merging duplicates, tracking regressions, verifying closures.
- Support sprint, regression, and release testing; craft lightweight test charters when requirements shift.
- Provide fast feedback to designers and developers, encouraging testability and early defect discovery.
- Continuously learn new tools (Postman, Charles Proxy, SQL, Python snippets) to widen coverage.
Required Skills
- Foundation in software development or computer science (BS or equivalent).
- Proven attention to detail; you spot off-by-one errors before code reaches production.
- Working knowledge of bug tracking tools—JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Ability to write concise reproduction steps that anyone can follow.
- Solid communication skills; you translate technical details for non-technical partners.
- Analytical mindset with a habit of questioning assumptions and validating data.
Nice-to-Have Extras
- Exposure to Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with SQL queries for data validation.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs with Postman or similar.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
- Passion for video games, fintech apps, or e-commerce UX—domain knowledge accelerates learning.
