Junior Data Analytics Assistant
A rapidly scaling, insight-driven organization pairs advanced technology with razor-sharp curiosity. The analytics team owns the full data lifecycle, from ingestion to dashboard. You will join a diverse group that prizes experimentation, open feedback, and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate raw datasets from internal and third-party sources.
- Maintain relational databases, ensuring schema integrity and refresh schedules.
- Build repeatable Excel and SQL reports that highlight KPIs for non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist in crafting Tableau and Power BI visualizations that convert trends into clear stories.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly metrics; flag anomalies before they snowball.
- Document methodologies, data dictionaries, and assumptions for future audits.
- Partner with senior data analysts and data engineers to refine ETL pipelines.
- Collaborate in real time with distributed teammates through Slack, Zoom, and shared notebooks.
- Continuously learn emerging analytics tools—Python, R, dbt—through guided sprints.
- Present findings in crisp, five-minute “flash” talks during team stand-ups.
Core Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
- Foundational SQL abilities: SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, subqueries.
- Introductory knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation.
- Familiarity with at least one BI platform (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Strong written and verbal communication—your insights must persuade.
- Meticulous attention to data accuracy and version control.
- Growth mindset; you treat feedback as fuel.
Preferred Extras (not mandatory)
- Experience with cloud warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Exposure to Git, Jupyter, or VS Code for collaborative analysis.
- Basic understanding of A/B testing and statistical significance.
- Visualization flair using Canva, Figma, or Adobe Illustrator.
